Born in October 1934 in Turkal Khanapur, Medak district, Telangana, India, He is a distinguished scholar and devoted servant of Islamic knowledge. From a young age, he was nurtured in a deeply religious environment under the guidance of his late father, Mohammed Banda Ali Sahib, an imam and landowner known for his piety and asceticism. His uncle, Mohammed Shamsheer Ali Sahib, a Hafiz and Qari, further inspired him through his reliance on Allah and service to others.
By the age of seven, Mr. Mohammad Irshad Ali Sahib completed the recitation of the Quran. Alongside his religious education, he excelled in secular studies, graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) degree from Osmania University in 1958. His professional journey included serving as a Fire Station Officer in the Andhra Pradesh Fire Services Department of the Government of Andhra Pradesh. In July 1963, he was assigned to Rashtrapati Nilayam in Secunderabad for two months to fulfill his official duties with the entire team during the President of India s stay.At the conclusion of this assignment, the President of India presented a souvenir as a token of appreciation. Following this, the esteemed author resigned from his position in the State Government and, in 1974, joined BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited).
The esteemed author had a passion for acquiring religious knowledge from an early age. Even during his employment, he consistently stayed in Hyderabad on weekends and holidays to privately study the Quran and related religious sciences under various scholars. Over time, he gained knowledge from approximately 15 different scholars.
For spiritual training, he joined the Qadiriyya Sufi order and pledged allegiance (bai'at) to the late Maulana Molvi Turab Ali Sahib, M.A., Dip.Ed., who was the son of Maulana Professor Abdul Qadeer Sahib Bahr-ul-Uloom, the head of the Arabic Department at Osmania University. The author pursued the spiritual path (suluk) for five years, during which he was granted khilafat (spiritual succession).
In 1980, the author was sent to Saudi Arabia by BHEL and resided in the Jizan Valley for 13 years. During this time, alongside his professional duties, he continued his religious education under the guidance of Egyptian scholar Sheikh Saleh Imam, a graduate of Al-Azhar University, and Saudi scholar Sheikh Khalid Ahdal Muhammad Aqili.
From 1981 onward, while fulfilling his professional responsibilities, the author also served as a muezzin in a mosque under the Ministry of Hajj and Endowments in Jizan.
The author possesses a dual passion acquiring religious knowledge and serving the Quran. Motivated by this dedication, he obtained permission from the Department of Quran Memorization in Jizan to teach Quranic sciences in the mosque.
As a result, employees from Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh, residing in the surrounding areas, began approaching him for Quranic education. This noble service to the Quran continued voluntarily for approximately 12 years, up until 1992.
In December 1992, the esteemed author returned to his hometown of Hyderabad. Following the advice of his respected teachers, he decided to affiliate himself with a religious institution to formally appear for examinations. He enrolled as an external student at Jamia Nizamia, Hyderabad, and successfully passed the Molvi examination with first-class honors. Subsequently, he appeared for the Aalim examination and, by the grace of Allah, also achieved first-class honors.
Although he aspired to pursue the Fazil degree, his residence near BHEL, far from Hyderabad, prevented him from realizing this ambition. However, immediately after returning from Saudi Arabia, he resumed his commitment to education programs.
By the grace of Allah, he has devoted 40 years to teaching Quranic sciences voluntarily (fi sabilillah), and at the age of 90, he continues this noble endeavor. Most of his time is spent in religious study and reflection.
I pray that Allah Almighty grants acceptance to the esteemed efforts, including these book. Ameen.
