Beginnings

Early Life and Quranic Foundation

1934

Hazrat Mohammed Irshad Ali Sahib was born in October 1934 in Turkal Khanapur, Medak district, Telangana, India — raised in a deeply religious environment from his earliest years.

Family

His father was Mohammed Bande Ali Sahib, described as an imam and landowner known for piety and asceticism. His uncle was Mohammed Shamsheer Ali Sahib, described as a Hafiz and Qari — both shaping the religious atmosphere of his upbringing.

Age 7

He completed Qur'an recitation by the age of seven — an early foundation that would define the course of his life and service.

1958

He graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) from Osmania University in 1958.

Career

He served as a Fire Station Officer in the Andhra Pradesh Fire Services Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh.

1963

In July 1963, he served at Rashtrapati Nilayam in Secunderabad during the President of India’s stay and received a souvenir or token of appreciation.

1974

He resigned from State Government service and joined BHEL in 1974 — continuing his religious studies alongside his professional duties.

Seeking Knowledge

Lifelong Pursuit of Religious Knowledge

While working, Hazrat Mohammed Irshad Ali Sahib continued private religious studies under various scholars during weekends and holidays in Hyderabad. He gained knowledge from approximately 15 scholars — never allowing worldly employment to become an excuse to neglect learning.

He joined the Qadiriyya Sufi order for spiritual training under Maulana Molvi Turab Ali Sahib. He pursued suluk for five years and was granted khilafat — a path of inward refinement alongside outward knowledge.

Jizan, Saudi Arabia

Years in Saudi Arabia

1980

Sent to Saudi Arabia by BHEL in 1980, he lived in the Jizan Valley for 13 years — a period of continued learning and devoted service.

Scholars

In Saudi Arabia, he continued religious learning under the Egyptian scholar Sheikh Saleh Imam, a graduate of Al-Azhar University, and the Saudi scholar Sheikh Khalid Ahdal Muhammad Aqili.

1981

From 1981, he served as a muezzin in a mosque under the Ministry of Hajj and Endowments in Jizan. He obtained permission from the Department of Quran Memorization in Jizan to teach Quranic sciences in the mosque.

1992

He taught Quranic sciences voluntarily to people from Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh until approximately 1992 — offering knowledge without worldly gain.

Formal Qualifications

Return to Hyderabad and Formal Examinations

1992

He returned to Hyderabad in December 1992 and enrolled externally at Jamia Nizamia, Hyderabad.

Exams

He passed the Molvi examination with first-class honours and the Aalim examination with first-class honours — formal recognition of knowledge he had long pursued and lived by.

After

After returning, he continued education programmes — sharing what he had learned and deepening his own study alongside teaching others.

Fi Sabilillah

Forty Years of Quranic Service

Hazrat Mohammed Irshad Ali Sahib devoted around forty years to teaching Quranic sciences voluntarily — fi sabilillah — without seeking worldly reward.

At around ninety years of age, he continues to spend most of his time in religious study and reflection. This lifelong dedication to the Qur'an, to teaching, and to spiritual reform is the spiritual foundation of Islahi Tohfa — a platform built to preserve and share what he has given for the benefit of the Ummah.
